A 19 year old female student of Science Laboratory Technology (SLT) Department of Osun State Polytechnic (OSPOLY) has been arrested for allegedly pouring hot water on her boyfriend shortly after his birthday at Miracle Hall, BHS area in Iree last Saturday.

According to a report by Daily Trust, the attacker Yetunde poured the hot water on Niyi Adelana (pictured above) because he invited other girls to his party and flirted with them right in front of her

Niyi, a Higher National Diploma (HND) II student of Computer Science, suffered serious burns and was taken to the hospital for treatment.

The Police Public Relations Officer for Osun State, DSP Folasade Odoro, confirmed the incident in a chat with Daily Trust. She said investigation was still going on and that upon completion, the girl would be charged to court.

The senior pastor at Resurrecting Faith Church in Waco, Texas has advised his female congregation not to wear weaves to church. 39 year old Pastor A.J. Aamir said he grew wary of looking out over his congregation and seeing a sea of hair weaves. Pastor Aamir feels women wearing weaves presents a false image of themselves and are associated with women who have low self-esteem.

“Our black women are getting weaves trying to be something and someone they are not. Be real with yourself is all I’m saying,” Pastor A.J. Aamir told AmericaPreachers.com.

He said he “highly disapproves” of women wearing weave in his church, where the average age of the congregation is 22. Meaning most female members wear weaves.

“Long hair don’t care. What kind of mess is that? I don’t want my members so focused on what’s on their heads and not in their heads. I lead a church where our members are struggling financially. I mean really struggling. “Yet, a 26-year-old mother in my church has a $300 weave on her head. No. I will not be quiet about this.”

The State Criminal Investigation Department (CID) in Calabar has arrested one Chijioke Nwakor for allegedly raping a nine-year-old girl to death.

20-year-old Nwakor confessed to have engaged Miss Alice Enej (9) in ‘marathon love-making.’ He also told the officer heading the CID’s homicide unit, Mr. Joseph Inuyashe, that there was a mutual agreement between him and the girl and that there was no form of force. He said,

“I used to see the girl everyday in Okuku-Yala, where I stay with my parents. I don’t know what pushed me last Monday to approach her. As I saw her playing with the three boys at Saint Patrick’s Primary School, Okuku football field, I called her and asked what she was doing there. I told her to go home and meet her mother.”

The advice took an amorous dimension when it started drizzling and Nwakor and Alice had to take shelter under one of the school buildings.

“I discussed with her and she accepted so I took her to one of the abandoned buildings that has been overtaken by weeds, where I told her to remove her underwears and she complied,” he said.

Claiming there was mutual agreement between them, the boy dismissed allegation that he raped her, saying, “I did not slap her or do anything to her.

“I told her to bend down because the place was too dirty. The uncompleted building is now used as a toilet, because most people living around there had no toilet.”
He said he then proceeded to have sex with Alice, who started crying but that he thought she was pretending.

Few minutes later, Alice slumped and became unconscious and Nwakor decided to call for help.
The deceased was rushed to the hospital while the culprit went round the community sourcing for money to foot the hospital bills.

“I was still looking for money when somebody called me that the girl was dead,” he said.
He claimed to have abstained from women since he came to Cross River State, regretting that his first attempt to make love to a girl of his desire has resulted in tragedy.

“We are still investigating the matter and the culprit will soon be charged to court, Mr. Hogan Bassey, acting Police Public Relations Officer of the Command said.

Nwakor, who hails from Aniocha Local Government Area, and grew up in Onistha, Anambra, recently relocated to Okuku-Yala LGA in Cross River State where he lives with his parents.

A 34-year-old man, Arogundade Ahmed, has been arrested by the Lagos State Police Command for allegedly flogging his son to death.

According to eyewitnesses, Arogundade tortured his 13-year-old son, Qudus, to death because Qudus broke into someone’s house and attempted to steal.

Arogundade was said to have killed his son in the presence of his little sister, Sherifat.

It appears the CEO of Morgan Entertainment is not telling us all the truth he knows about the death Igbo rapper, Obiajulu Nwozo, famously addressed as MC Loph and his only sister, Chinwe.
Recall that in one of our previous posts, we served you a story of how former Morgan Entertainment MD, Obi Madubogwu,  accused the label CEO, Emeka Morgan Nwanne Oguejiofor of allegedly using the late MC Loph and only sister for rituals.

Further investigations  has proven that there are other people joining voices with Madubogwu to label Morgan a ritualist and being responsible for the death of the rapper. They are no other persons than the late rapper’s mom and his fiancée, Ngozi, who was the only survivor of the accident that claimed both the life of the rapper and his only sister.
In an exclusive chat with our correspondent who reached out to MC Loph’s mom via a phone conversation, the aged woman, we also learnt suffers Hypertension, lamented almost endlessly of how Emeka Morgan abandoned her and the late rapper’s son, after making a pledge of placing her on a meager salary of 30 thousand naira monthly. According Mrs. Obiozor, “Emeka Morgan killed my only son and daughter, left me childless and handicapped. Since Obiajulu died, the only time I set my eyes on the so-called Morgan was in May 2012, when he came with Obi Madubogu, gave me a bag of rice, a gallon of groundnut oil and 60 thousand naira and asked me never to allow Nkiru (MC Loph’s wife) to have a share of the money. But I couldn’t, I gave the money over to Nkiru after he left and it was used to fix the Camry with which she does most of her run arounds in Lagos. Since then he had neither called nor checked on me again’.
Contrary to the rumour which went agog in a section of the media a few months ago that Emeka Oguejiofor the owner of Morgan Entertainment adopted late MC Loph’s son, Mrs. Obiozor stated categorically that Morgan is a liar and will not go unpunished. According to her, “Is it possible to adopt a child you have not set your eyes on since he was born? Probably he adopted Obiajulu Jnr. In his dreams or imagination. NBC News reported 25 injuries, citing Paige Hargrove, executive director of the Louisiana Emergency Response Network.
Six burn victims were taken to hospitals by helicopter, WAFB television reported, citing the Iberville Office of Emergency Preparedness.
Corey Gautreaux, captain of City of Gonzales Fire Department, said emergency responders were treating people at the scene. There were no immediate reports of fatalities.
"It's an active scene. The fire department, the sheriff's office and hazmat (hazardous materials) team are responding to the explosion at the Williams Olefins plant," said Amy Johnson, a spokeswoman for the Ascension Parish Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness.
Authorities ordered people within a 2-mile (3-km) radius to remain in their homes, in part because of the smoke, said Lester Kenyon, a spokesman for Ascension Parish. Local media reported roadways in the area had been closed.
Ship traffic on river remained unaffected, the U.S. Coast Guard said.
The plant produces approximately 1.3 billion pounds of ethylene and 90 million pounds of polymer grade propylene, according to the Williams website. These chemicals are the basic building blocks in the petrochemical process used to make plastics.
Williams operates the plant and holds an 83 percent ownership interest in the Geismar facility, the company's website said.
Shares in parent company Williams Cos. fell by as much as 3 percent in early trading after the reports and were down 2.2 percent near midday.
With massive equipment operating under intense pressure and high heat, the petrochemical industry is particularly prone to occasional fires and explosions, most of which are quickly brought under control with limited injury or damage.
Southern Louisiana is home to a large share of the country's petrochemical facilities and has seen at least two other blasts in the past two years.
Pressure on the industry to improve safety has increased since a blast at the Texas City refinery killed 15 people in 2005, among the worst such industrial accidents in decades.
A blast last month at a fertilizer plant in West, Texas, that killed 14 people has also sharpened attention on handling of volatile chemicals.
